Villa Heidelberg is a Seattle bed and breafast that was built as a family home in 1909 and named by the original owner, Jacob Mades from Heidelberg, Germany. It is a Craftsman style 4 square design. He originally owned most of the city block and had a small farm with the property. The family sold the home after his death and the Bed and Breakfast was established in 1986.

In the common areas you'll find original gas/electric light fixtures, beamed ceilings, an open staircase, and leaded glass windows. The living room has a "Klinker" brick fireplace for those cool winter evenings as well as a piano for anyone who feels inspired to play. A game table with backgammon, checkers, cards, chess and other board games is yours to enjoy at your leisure, as well a host of magazines and books. Enjoy a fantastic sunset from the porch or on the deck above the detached garage.
Each morning you may dine in the dining room or on the old-fashioned wraparound porch. Our morning coffee is fair-trade, locally roasted to order called West Seattle Gold. Your dining experience starts with juice, fresh seasonal fruit, and pastries. We then serve a hot entrée such as potato crust quiche, Northwest eggs benedict (with smoked salmon), or Baked Blueberry French Toast just to name a few samples. All entrees include a side meat such as German sausages, ham, or bacon. We are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions and also dislikes. We have experience cooking for Gluten Intolerant, Salt Free, low Carbohydrate or low fat, as well as Vegetarian and Vegan.
Innkeeper Judy Burbrink calls herself a "permanent transplant" from Indiana to the Pacific Northwest. She moved to Seattle in 1969 to teach elementary school but after only 4 years changed careers to become a flight attendant, which she did for 26 years. After staying in B&Bs in Europe she dreamed of owning a B&B. The opportunity came in 1999 when she bought Villa Heidelberg. Judy especially enjoys meeting guests from all over the world and hearing about their backgrounds, jobs, and families. She also enjoys entertaining and has been a part-time caterer for 25 years.
